Leslie Marcelin (“Les”) was born in Miami to parents of Haitian descent in pursuit of “The American Dream.”Upon graduating from Miami Norland High School, he enrolled in the Biological Science program (pre-med track)at Florida Atlantic University, specializing in psychobiological Rresearch. While studying as an honor student, he played college football for 2 and a half years. Les joinedAlpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., serving as a mentor to high school boys, and later became a high school football coach. Through both experiences, he discovered his passion for mentorship. In August 2011, while working in geriatric research at the University of Miami Tissue Bank, Les founded his own mentoring organization – Project Men: Youth Mentoring Group – with a mission to pair young boys with local community leaders who can guide them into a successful future. Les has formed partnerships with middle schools and high schools in South Florida to bring his teachings and mentorship not only to children in the community but into the schools as part of their educational programs. A biologist and inventor, Les is currently the CEO of Maximum Biologics, LLC, a biomedical engineering consulting firm, which he uses as a platform to introduce his mentees to scientific innovations, research, and entrepreneurship. Leslie’s support system consists of his wife, Jobeth, his two spunky boys, Daniel and Kaleb, and his beautiful daughter Kylie-Jolie.
